Kiki & Zuki is a beautifully imaginative performance for children and families, blending shadow puppetry and performative storytelling into a magical theatre experience. Step into a world of shadows and light where Kiki, a gentle dreamer from the Moon, meets Zuki, a curious Earthling, and together they embark on a journey of friendship, understanding and connection.
Told through enchanting visual storytelling, playful shadow scenes and expressive narration, Kiki & Zuki explores big ideas - belonging, resilience and discovering differences - in a way that is engaging, gentle and age appropriate. Inspired by the artists’ own experiences of navigating two cultures, the work celebrates curiosity, empathy and the joy of finding common ground.
After watching the performance, children will have the chance to use some puppets to play along with shadow and music themselves.
Developed with the support of Banyule City Council’s Arts and Culture program, Kiki & Zuki is a thoughtful and visually captivating South Side Festival experience, best suited to children aged 6–12, and perfect for families to enjoy together.
