Local Artist Spotlight: Velvet Bloom
Published on 19 October 2020
Her silky vocals, lush soundscapes and raw emotion will be on full display when she and her band perform as Velvet Bloom and The Vito Collective for a livestreamed performance hosted by Frankston Arts Centre this month.
“As artists we love nothing more than to play, generally to a crowd! The opportunity that Frankston Arts Centre has provided us to reach thousands at home is something we are super grateful for,” Maddy said.
Maddy and her band have performed over three years, released six singles, organised three tours and have supported many musicians.
Notable acts that they have performed with include Josh Cashman, Great Gable, Dulcie, Death By Denim, The Mamas, The Grogans, Zoe Fox And The Rocket Clocks, Teenage Dads and Kim Churchill.
In 2019, Velvet Bloom’s song ‘Teach Ya’ won Listen Up Music Org’s national competition for ‘Songs That Heal’.
Maddy is now a part of the MIME mentoring program through Box Hill Institute and she counts herself lucky to have renowned singer Kylie Auldist as a mentor.
Velvet Bloom and The Vito Collective perform as part of the ‘And We are LIVE’ show hosted by Frankston Arts Centre on Thursday, October 29, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
In lieu of ticket sales, your support by donation of whatever you can afford is welcome with 100 per cent of proceeds going to the artists to help them continue to create. Donate to the GoFundMe page here.
Frankston Arts Centre and X Promotions are proud to present ‘And We Are LIVE’ livestreamed from two stages to you at home via the FAC Facebook page and YouTube channel.
