Let’s Dance

Let’s Dance is a celebration of movement capturing fleeting moments inspired by music, memories, and mayhem.

Rehgan De Mather has established himself as an artist to watch. Since completing his BVA at Monash University, he’s had 25 solo and 30 group exhibitions; is represented in numerous public and private collections in Australia, Singapore, UK, USA and Ireland; has been the finalist in many high-profile awards including the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship, Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and The Lester Prize; and has been awarded multiple artist residencies.

“De Mather’s paintings replicate the traces of industry, and the cryptograms of graffiti, on walls of contemporary spaces. They flash with comic book exclamations, bleed with paint scrawled behind alleyways, and are seared by an essence of New York grit.”
David O’Halloran

“De Mather’s works are noisy, vulnerable, exuberant and rich in layering and stray meanings.”
Rodney Forbes

“The colour, humour, and honesty of De Mather’s work is a refreshing antidote to the mundanities of everyday life”
Briar Holt
