Liz Walker's Dark Water is an immersive installation at the Glass Cube Gallery exploring the escalating impact of plastic pollution on marine ecosystems. Visitors are invited to sit beneath a suspended kelp forest created from recycled plastic bottles and beach collected waste, surrounded by an evocative underwater landscape shaped by even more discarded plastic. The installation also encourages community participation through Dark Water: Notes to the Future, inviting visitors to share written reflections or drawings expressing hopes for the future of our oceans and planet. Through this sensory experience Dark Water challenges audiences to reflect on consumer behaviour, environmental responsibility and the vulnerability of our oceans in an increasingly polluted world.
