Frankston Arts Centre partners with Stellar Short Film Festival for ongoing rewards and awards!

Supporting artists isn't a one-off gesture—it's a commitment to show up, again and again.

Our long-standing partnership with Stellar Short Film Festival is built on exactly that belief: backing artists over time and helping creative careers grow far beyond a single stage or season. As part of Frankston's wider cultural ecosystem—alongside Stellar and McClelland Gallery—we're proud to champion artists and spark creative connections across disciplines.

This partnership makes perfect sense. It helps us reach new audiences, showcases our venue to up-and-coming filmmakers at the pre-vent filmmakers night, and supports actors on their creative career journey. Our early support helped get Stellar to where it is today, and we're thrilled to continue as Official Supporting Partner and sponsor of the Best Performance Award.

A Legacy of Launching Careers

The performers we've supported have gone on to achieve remarkable success. Savannah La Rain, named Stellar's Rising Star in 2020, now stars as Bodhi in Netflix's Surviving Summer, building an internationally mobile career across Australia and the United States. Rick Davies, who won Best Performance in 2019 for a landmark comedic role, has since become one of Australia's most versatile and beloved performers—his win affirming that comedy demands the same rigour and artistry as drama.

Celebrating Stellar 2026

This year's Best Performance nominees represent a field of exceptional talent, and we can't wait to celebrate them at the Filmmakers Night which we are proud to host the evening before the main event. We'll gather with filmmakers and VIPs on the FAC balcony for an evening of creativity, collaboration, and community.
