FAC Forecourt Redevelopment - Latest News - Davey St Works 2024.jpg

Our forecourt at the front of Frankston Arts Centre will be undergoing some works in 2025 to improve pedestrian access and to introduce a fresh new look.

The first steps of this exciting Forecourt Redevelopment are to remove the overhead power poles and wires in front of the building on Davey Street, which is planned to take place on Sunday 19 May 2024.

There will be several trucks moving on Davey Street on these dates, and pedestrian traffic management will guide visitors safely around the works. Both cars and pedestrians may need to wait a short time at different points in the days as the works progress.

Whilst the works are taking place, we recommend that visitors to Frankston Arts Centre access our main theatre foyer via the Playne Street entrance, via the stairs or lift from the Frankston Library forecourt, or via the lift from the car park.

Are you seeing a show at Frankston Arts Centre on Sunday 19 May? Here are some tips to help you get from the street to your seat and avoid the forecourt works!

Access via our car park:

Parking in Frankston Arts Centre’s undercover car park is the most accessible option. From the car park, you can access the theatre foyer via the lift or by walking out to the stairs on Playne Street (follow the signs to the Frankston Library). Take a ticket as you enter the car park and pay at a pay station before returning to your car to help avoid congestion after the show.

If you are parking elsewhere, or arriving via public transport:

Access the theatre foyer via the stairs or the lift from the Playne Street entrance at the rear of the Frankston Library forecourt. You will find the lift 5 metres behind the library entrance, to the left of the stairs.

If you require accessible parking bays:

There are three spaces on Level 3 of our car park, and two spaces on other levels. You can access the foyer from all levels of the car park via the lift. There are also two accessible parking bays on Playne Street outside the Frankston Library, allowing access to the lift.

As one of the largest metropolitan arts venues in Victoria, we welcome approximately 160,000 people to Frankston Arts Centre each year. We are excited to improve the experience of our visitors by refreshing the Forecourt layout with a focus on creating an inclusive and accessible space for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

Thank you in advance for your understanding whilst we undertake these important changes.
