Lighting up with Pride
Published on 08 October 2025
Did you know that Frankston shines a little brighter at night? Through the Creative Lighting Program, landmarks across our city are illuminated in vibrant colours to raise awareness and celebrate important causes.
This October, the Frankston Arts Centre will be part of the program, joining other local icons across Frankston in lighting up with meaning.
Here’s what’s happening this month:
Rainbow for Pride Round
From 8–12 October, we’ll be lighting up in rainbow colours to celebrate inclusion and diversity ahead of the AFLW Pride Round—and to cheer on the Hawks in their AFLW match at Frankston Park on 11 October.
Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
From 12 October, the Arts Centre will glow pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a powerful reminder of the importance of early detection and ongoing research.
Blue for Seniors Month
From 16–31 October, the Arts Centre will shine blue to mark the International Day of Older Persons and the Victorian Seniors Festival. It’s a chance to recognise the invaluable contributions of older people in our community.
✨ A Note About the Lights
Some locations have limitations with their lighting technology or restrictions on certain colours due to safety requirements. So if you notice that one site looks a little different from the others, that’s why—it’s all part of keeping our lighting both safe and spectacular!
