Local Artist Spotlight: Teenage Dads
Friday 23 October 2020
Teenage Dads continue to win audiences thanks to a charming indie-pop sound combined with memorable songwriting, electrifying live shows and quirky charisma.
Their infectious melodies, intricate synth lines, guitars ‘hooks’ and punchy drums bring comparisons to Phoenix and The Strokes.
The Mornington Peninsula locals produce music that is carefully written in consideration with its reception in a live venue.
The band has toured Australia, playing sold out crowds both young and young-at-heart, and graced stages at NYE on the Hill and the St Kilda Festival. They have supported Ruby Fields, Northeast Party House and Lime Cordiale.
After the release of 2019 single ‘Message in the Sand’, Lime Cordiale invited Teenage Dads to join them on their Australian Robbery tour with shows in Western Australia, South Australia and New South Wales, as well as their NYE show at the Croxton Bandroom in Melbourne.
Shortly following, Teenage Dads premiered their first 2020 single ‘Adrenaline Rush’ in February to Triple J audiences.
Teenage Dads performs as part of the ‘And We are LIVE’ show hosted by Frankston Arts Centre on Thursday 29 October from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
In lieu of ticket sales, your support by donation of whatever you can afford is welcome with 100 per cent of proceeds going to the artists to help them continue to create. Donate to the GoFundMe page here.
