An intimate performance of songs and storytelling with international musical theatre stars Simon Gleeson and Natalie O'Donnell performing classic musical theatre songs.

Event Description

International musical theatre stars Simon Gleeson and Natalie O’Donnell share not just the stage... but also a life and two children.

Helpmann Award winner, Simon Gleeson best known for his acclaimed portrayal of Jean Valjean in Les Misérables is a leading man with credits that span the main stages of Australia and London’s West End. Simon has just finished filming the Better Man biopic on the life of Robbie Williams, which he co-wrote.

Natalie O’Donnell most recently delighted audiences as Donna in Mamma Mia! for which she received a Helpmann Award nomination. She has carved out an extensive career in London and Australia on stage and screen and is joining the 2022 cast of Come From Away national tour after this performance.

Join them for a heart-warming Daytime Music Theatre performance as they come together to perform the classic songs from Rodgers and Hammerstein through to The Greatest Showman’, with some Billy Joel thrown in for good measure.

Biographies for Simon Gleeson & Natalie O'Donnell

Natalie O'Donnell has appeared in many musical & theatre productions both locally and internationally. Most recently she performed the role of Donna in the 2017/18 Australian tour of Mamma Mia, receiving a 2018 Helpmann Award Nomination for Best Actress in a Musical.

Other highlights include Songs For a New World (‘Co Lead’) Blue Saint Productions; Next to Normal (Diana’) Doorstep Arts/Hayes Theatre; Murderous Instincts (‘Lauren’) Savoy Theatre, West End; The Sunshine Club (‘Rose’) Sydney Theatre Company: Les Miserables Cameron Mackintosh; The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee Melbourne Theatre Company: Jerry’s Girls  and Crazy For You (‘Polly’) for The Production Company, One night the Moon (Rose) Malthouse Theatre Company and ‘Hipbone Sticking Out’ for Big hART.

Natalie’s television credits include: The Doctor Blake Mysteries; Mako: Island of SecretsMr & Mrs MurderRushSatisfactionAll Saints and the made for television movie of South Pacific; starring Glenn Close.  She has also appeared alongside Nia Vardalos and Richard Dreyfuss in the romantic comedy, My Life in Ruins and in the independent Australian film Taj.

Natalie also works as a producer for the Big hART initiative Project O currently running in Frankston North in partnership with Monterey Secondary College and Mahogany Rise primary school.

 Simon’s television credits in Australia include: City HomicideNeighboursBlue Heelers and Seachange. In the UK he played the regular role of ‘Sid’ in EastEnders (BBC 1) and was a member of the principal cast of Kombat Opera (BBC 2). Simon played the role of ‘Ken’ in the feature film- My Life In Ruins.

Simon was awarded the 2015 Helpmann Award for ‘Best Male Actor in a Musical’ for his performance as ‘Jean Valjean’ in Les Misérables. He has received a further two Helpmann Award Nominations and multiple Green Room Award and Sydney Theatre Award Nominations for his work.
