About This Event

Nominated by Jools Holland as one of his top 10 favourite pianists of all time, Ben Waters brings a unique brand of "flair & bravado" to his piano playing and vocals. Ben's remarkable career has seen him playing / recording with legendary figures including The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Shakin' Stevens, Jools Holland, Ray Davies, Leo Sayer, PJ Harvey and others.  Ben was voted Europe's #1 Boogie Woogie piano player in 2016.

"I have been a boogie fan since the 1950's and seen pianists all-over the world. None come close to Waters." - Blueprint Magazine

Ben Waters comes to Australia having contributed a documentary on the late “Fats” Domino for Sky TV’s series “music legends we lost in 2017”. Domino has been a major influence on Ben’s musical journey and his music will feature in the programme.

More recently Ben’s UK big band played two sell-out January shows at the world famous Ronnie Scott’s Club in London’s west end.

He'll be joined by special guest Derek Nash, a member of the Jools Holland Orchestra since 2004. Derek has led Sax Appeal for 30 years and is a member of the Ronnie Scott's Blues Explosion. He has appeared live & on TV with such greats as Eric Clapton, Amy Winehouse, Paul McCartney, Solomon Burke, Annie Lennox & Tom Jones.

Most recently, on Feb 7th the Ben Waters Band that will play Cube 37, performed a sell-out show to an all-ages international audience at the spectacular Utzon Room in the Sydney Opera House. Two encores suggest the audience had a thoroughly good time!!
