Accessibilty

Frankston Arts Centre is an inclusive venue and welcomes people of all ages, abilities and circumstances to take part in workshops, performances and exhibitions. The Centre also aims to aid mental health and wellbeing by increasing access for people and their families who may be facing disadvantage through arts access.

The Frankston Arts Centre accepts Companion Cards
People with a disability who require assistance to access our venues have a right to equal participation; as such, a holder of a Companion Card will be issued a second ticket for their companion at no charge.

Disabled Parking Bays
Davey Street (1 space)
Playne Street (2 spaces) Access the Centre foyer by lift behind the Library.
FAC Car Park (3 spaces on Level 3 and 2 spaces on other levels) Access Centre foyer by lift on each level.

Patrons are also welcome to use front Main Entrance driveway as a drop point before continuing to the Car Park.

Wheelchair access in main Theatre
We have two permanent spaces in the Theatre dedicated to patrons using a wheelchair. Additional spaces can be arranged as required. Please inform our Box Office staff of your requirements when making a booking.

Hearing Impaired
The Front and Rear Stalls both have an operating Hearing Loop. Some performances are Captioned or Auslan Signed, and some performances have a high visual aspect; as indicated below

Auslan Signed
Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is the recognised language of the Australian Deaf Community.  It is a visual spatial language represented through hand movements known as 'signs', facial expression and body language.

Live Theatre Captioning
Displays dialogue on a plasma screen close to the stage as it is spoken.  This enables people who are hard of hearing, Deaf or speak a language other than English to enjoy live theatre.

Walking Aides

Walking frames and other walking aides are not to remain in the Theatre during performances. However, they are permitted in the Theatre for use by patrons accessing their seat. Ushering staff are there to help and will store the walking aide nearby, returning it to the patron at interval and upon the closing of the performance.

Amenities for All

The Centre provides toilet facilities that cater for disability and wheelchair access.

There are two Baby Change rooms in the Frankston Arts Centre.
