Welcome to Season 2010 ........ |
This Season we have 9 performances with all the drama, music, song and dance to entertain you during 2010.
Starting the Season in February with Toy Symphony by Michael Gow - the toast of Sydney's theatre in 2007; The Peppercorn Tree in March with a cast of 4 including, Kevin Harrington and Frankston favourite Alan Hopgood; we are very proud to haveThe Sapphires in May based on a true story of 4 indigenous sisters from country Victoria - a "Supremes" cover group sent to Vietnam in 1969 and featuring Christine Anu and Casey Donovan. In June we have a quirky theatrical exploration with Lucy Guerin's Untrained - one stage, four men - 2 high highly skilled dancers and 2 likely lads from Dandenong.
Garry McDonald is reunited with Henri Szeps in the Ensemble Theatre's production of Halpern & Johnson in July. Also in July, we have Oz Opera presenting the beautiful La Traviata. Bell Shakespeare is presenting Twelfth Night in August, complete with Bell's surprising twist which we have come to expect. The superb Melbourne Symphony Orchestra with an outstanding program including Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. Completing the Season in October we are thrilled to have the return of the Bangarra Dance Theatre with Mathinna - the story of a young aboriginal girl removed from her traditional life and family to be the play mate of the Governor's daughter in Tasmania.
